TrueKarma is a unique platform aimed at fostering a culture of giving and social change.
The portal empowers individuals and organizations to make impactful contributions through donations, fundraisers, and charity events.
As a UI/UX designer, I was entrusted with creating the TrueKarma brand logo, designing the website, and developing a user-friendly web application to simplify charitable giving and engagement.
– Anne Frank
The logo for TrueKarma reflects the essence of charity, community, and positive impact.
Inspired by the letters T and K, the design merges simplicity with a deeper connection to the platform's mission.
The concept incorporates:
"T" and "K" Formation: A creative representation of the initials, symbolizing the platform's identity.
Charity Theme: Subtle elements evoke a sense of giving, unity, and support.
Nature Influence: Organic shapes and a calming color palette convey growth, harmony, and renewal, aligning with TrueKarma's vision of creating a better world.
The logo stands as a beacon of trust and purpose, resonating with the ideals of the platform and inspiring individuals to contribute to meaningful causes.
In my initial research and stakeholder discussions, I identified several challenges that shaped my design process:
Engaging a Diverse Audience
The portal needed to attract donors, fundraisers, and charities alike while catering to different levels of digital proficiency.
Streamlining Workflows
Managing donations, creating fundraisers, and tracking contributions had to be easy and intuitive, avoiding overwhelming users with complex processes.
Building Trust and Transparency
To inspire confidence, the platform required clear communication about tax benefits, zero platform fees, and authentic charity options.
Highlighting Impact
Users needed a way to visualize the impact of their contributions through stories, metrics, and success updates.
Event Management
Simplifying the setup and management of charity events, including ticketing and RSVPs, was essential to encourage participation.
Simplifying Complex Processes
I broke down workflows like donations and fundraiser creation into step-by-step processes to make them approachable and user-friendly.
Establishing Trust
The platform prominently displayed its zero-commission policy and tax benefits, reinforced with testimonials and success stories.
Encouraging Engagement
Features like personalized dashboards, reward points, and social sharing options motivated users to stay active on the platform.
Technical Constraints
Collaborating closely with developers, I ensured the designs were scalable and technically feasible, particularly for event management and real-time impact tracking.
Increase in donations, including non-cash contributions like stocks and cars.
More donors generated IRS-compliant reports using the detailed reporting module.
Charity events managed, simplifying event creation for greater outreach.
Handling Complex Data
Organizing 500+ charities and tracking contributions required designing scalable and efficient data structures that still felt user-friendly.
Designing for Diverse Users
Catering to a wide range of users—from tech-savvy individuals to those less familiar with digital platforms—enhanced my approach to accessibility and universal design principles.
Iterative Design Process
Incorporating user feedback and stakeholder inputs taught me the importance of adaptability in achieving the project’s goals effectively.
