Overview

The project involved designing an AI-powered OKR platform from scratch to align individual and team objectives with organizational goals. Built to foster seamless collaboration, the platform simplifies OKR tracking, enhances productivity, and supports business growth with a scalable and intuitive solution.

Challenges

During our discussions with the Product Owner, we identified the following challenges:

Goal Setting Misalignment

Employees faced difficulties in understanding how their roles contributed to organizational goals, causing disengagement.

Tracking Inefficiencies

Lack of centralized systems led to fragmented tracking methods and reduced accountability.

Cross-Team Collaboration Issues

Coordinating objectives across departments resulted in duplicated efforts and misaligned priorities.

Resistance to Adoption

Perceived complexity and insufficient onboarding hampered initial engagement.

Visibility Gaps
Leadership lacked real-time progress tracking, making it hard to spot risks or celebrate wins effectively.

Design Approach

Understanding

As the UI/UX designer, I began with thorough research on OKR models, studying their implementation in successful organizations. Competitor analysis and stakeholder interviews helped identify pain points, such as misaligned goals, inadequate progress tracking, and disconnected workflows.

Remote Collaboration

During the pandemic, I leveraged tools like Microsoft Whiteboard for weekly brainstorming sessions. These recurring meetings ensured task prioritization and smooth communication despite remote work challenges.

Wireframing

Using Adobe XD, I created multiple low-fidelity wireframes to explore design approaches. Each iteration was tested and validated with stakeholders to address usability concerns.

High-Fidelity Design

I built a robust UI library to standardize fonts, colors, and components. Six design iterations were conducted, focusing on usability and functional alignment. Prototypes underwent rigorous testing for cross-device compatibility.

Development Handoff

I maintained constant collaboration with developers, providing detailed design assets and conducting regular reviews to ensure alignment. This included cross-browser testing and ensuring responsive design across devices.
